The Atomic Blog is Officially Dead. Why?
The once great and upcoming blog The Atomic Blog has gone the way of the buffalo, you know “extinct”. I don’t usually visit blogs everyday due to my busy schedule of processing mutual fund transfers & teaching young kids how to dance. So when I went to go visit The Atomic Blog I saw “The authors have deleted this blog. The content is no longer available.” At first I thought that maybe they fucked up and deleted their blog by accident, but then I got to thinking. I had been trying to setup a phone interview with them for a while now and emailed them like 4 times with no luck. Did they both die? Did Paul kill Dave? Did Dave kill Paul? Did they get arrested because they live in China and China doesn’t allow for free speech? Whatever the reason is I will get to the bottom of it in this blog!
They went by the names Paul Hughson & Dave Evanns. Through some investigating and sleuth work I found out that those are not their real names. I don’t know what their real names are nor would I tell because they are obviously trying to hide their names because blogging is very public. Hell my real name isn’t really Gregg O’Connell it’s Gregory O’Connell. See with a little name trickery future jobs that try and find some background info on me will never find me! Who’s the fucking smart one?!? ME!!! COCK SUCKERS!!!
The reason from what I’ve been hearing around the blogger rumor mill for them killing their blog is because Paul wasn’t contributing anymore with the blog and Dave was getting pissed or vice versa I’m not sure which was doing what. Anyway the other one got tired of doing everything himself and decided to end The Atomic Blogs life. I wonder if inside and outside Paul and Dave cried a little bit? I can’t imagine writing in my blog almost everyday and then killing my creation without much hesitation. It’s like Bon Jovi deleting all their songs one day from their memory. I don’t even want to think about a world with out “Living on a Prayer” or “Janie’s Got a Gun”.
Paul & Dave, now this is coming from one of the most critically acclaimed bloggers in the industry (me) you guys need to get off your high horses and resurrect the greatness that once was one of the funniest blogs around. It’s a cold cold world we live in and we need you guys to brighten our depressing self deprecating lives with words of hope and compassion. Fuck the egos and alcohol and get back to the digital world. I can’t live another virtual day knowing that the internet is short one blog. I live vicariously through your cached site here.

It’s sad to see them go but no one wants to be forced to write in a blog everyday. I think they will hold a special place in everyone’s heart for years to come.

I’m kidding. Seriously, I just don’t have time for the AB any more. Shortly after I stopped, Dave didn’t have the time. Something in my schedule had to go, and that was it.
I liked it while I did it, and I liked the people who contributed in the comments, but the other shit I got going on (including another blog and oh, yeah, my job) took top priority.
Thanks for the kind words, though. It’s not a high horse-issue, and I’m not being a drama queen. I wish there was a better story behind it all besides “I got really fucking busy,” but it is what it is.

Gregg, wow, a whole post dedicated to us? You took time away from talking about yourself, and for that I feel special.
Like Paul said, we got busy, and had to make changes. But like Paul said, I wish it was more exciting, then maybe there would be a “Behind the Blog” on VH1 about us.
And also, Paul Hewson and Dave Evans (who we modeled our names after) are better known as Bono and The Edge. So there you go, we actually ARE famous people!
